Two blooming hearts

Two blooming hearts, that's right. Both are lovely enough to make my heart spitter spatter. Little things can exite me...lol.

First I started "Where my Heart Blooms" by Blackbird Designs and loving it. It's such a lovely design and a pleasure to stitch.

After ordering and waiting for ages for the recommended fabric to arrive I decided I don't like it. So I went into my stash, grabbed some Belfast Light Mocha, made some week coffee and dyed it myself. . Although I'm quite pleased with the result, I hope the white will show off enough. If not, I can backstitch it can't I? At least I'm happy with it...lol

And the next heart IS a blooming heart. Isn't it lovely? I got that heart from Sarah who stitched it for me for the Prairie Schooler Seasonal exchange. I LOVE IT. It's gorgeous, from front and behind.  Receiving this gorgeous heart surely made my day bright. Sarah took the design from PS "Garden Blooms" and the tulip looks just fantastic on the heart. Love that little bee too.

And at last one more thing that made my day. A new flower frog for my scissors. It's not a new one of course, it's an old one, and I was after one just like that for a while. Found it at the other end of the world..in Canada. Featured with some of my newer scissors....

Whoa! WMHB looks fantastic...you got so much done already! You waited all that time and the Korty's Blend didn't work out?! It looks nice on your home dyed linen though. Cute exchange gift and I just love your new frog!

I do agree with you: the tulip looks great on the heart.

Should have read your post first, Gabi, as I just sent you an email wondering if you've started WMHB yet--silly me!

It looks great and I'm so happy you found a fabric in your stash that appeals to you. I almost always try to find fabric from my stash whenever possible... And what a pretty piece from Sarah!

Your new frog is so pretty with all the scissors in it--and all the way from Canada, too!! Nice collection of scissors as well...

Well, enjoy your stitching--so looking forward to following your progress :)

I know how you feel about the two blooming hearts! They look wonderful. Of all the BBD designs, I think that this one is one of my favorites. But what a disappointment with the fabric. Sounds ike you found a great alternative.

The exchange from Sarah is wonderful.

And you know that I just love that flower frog! I have a couple of those and they are my favorite - probably because of the pink color. It's so great that you found one - even if it was on the other side of the world!

And your stitching is coming along very nice. I am working on a border too, that has 2 other borders and it's meticulous but rewarding.

Your scissors holder is a depression glass flower vase...the pattern is called Old Colony. I used to have several of those scavenged from yard sales and antique stores (i`m from NS Canada).

Dein neues BBD Projekt ist so schön. Ich freue mich auch immer, wenn ich an einem BBD Teil sticke, es ist immer etwas Besonderes.
Was für ein wunderschönes Herz du im PS Exchange bekommen hast. Tolle Idee.

Lovely selection of scissors - once you start collecting, it's hard to stop. If you ever get to visit Scotland, Edinburgh is a beautiful city.

Your heart from Sarah is fabulous, you are so lucky and Sarah is so sweet.

Your flower frog is so beautiful too! I love the color and adore antiques. I love the idea of using a flower frog for scissors...you may have planted a seed in this old head...off to shop :)

Hallo Gabi,
