Frederika

Frederika is my comfort food....sort of. Because I might have lost couple of charts in the mail. (insert pout here): part 3 of the mystery sampler, the newest BBD Summer and a LHN ornament. Lost or landed in Austria. Fingers crossed that it took a trip over Europe.  Oh well, there are worser things in life. Can't think of anything right now off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are. Yes I know I'm a sook...lol.

Edit to add: I'm not in a bad/sad/grumpy  mood, I'm just a tad impatient  as usual

Instead of grabbing some  more chocolate I decided to stop stalking the poor postie and start something new. I have a basket full of kitted up projects just waiting for me, and the choice fell on Frederika by Carriage House Samplings.

Stitching her on 40ct  Vintage Pearled Barley with the recommended NPI silks. It's my first time using NPI and I love it. That's seriously gorgeous stuff. Almost better then chocolate. Almost.

Getting closer to the finish with Amsterdam....
The houses look whacky on the picture, but they are not. They are really straight. Problem is to get a good picture of a 40" wide piece of linen hanging off the floor stand.

Eeek! I hope your package shows up. My post sometimes takes a detour via The Philippines or New Zealand (because, I'm sure, both countries' names look similar to Ireland... der...) but always shows up in the end. I'm hoping the same happens for you!

Love your new start. Frederika is such a great summer stitch. Amsterdam is stunning!

The joys of living in Australia and waiting for the post. I have just come home and a couple of parcels I am expecting have not arrived yet. I did get some new fabric yesterday.

I love your new start and Amsterdam is looking fantastic. It certainly is a large piece.

Hope your parcel turns up tomorrow

Hope you missing mail turns up soon - i once sent something to New Zealand and it arrived 4 months later, i know it's on the otherside of the world, but i thought that was a bit much!

Great start on Fredrika and Amsterdam is just stunning :-)

Amsterdam is moving along so fast! It'll be done and ready to frame before you know it.

We're allowed to stalk out mail person once in awhile, lol!

Beautiful work on Amsterdam! Hopefully your stash will find it's way to you! It took 3 months once for a package to find its way to my door, long after I had given up any hope of receiving it. It had to travel the route of damaged mail but it finally did arrive!

Sorry to hear the stash hasn't shown up. Hopefully it's just delayed, that's happened to me.

It's good to find something that's a chocolate substitute! lol.

Ouch, I hope your package shows up eventually... it's no fun losing stuff in the post. Nice start on Frederika, and Amsterdam is looking great!

Your Amsterdam sampler is really lovely. I love all the different buildings.

I live in NSW and the postal service between the US and Australia is a real worry. I have 2 parcels full of goodies, one of which was sent late last year and the other one about 4 months ago and they haven't arrived. I am now waiting on a chart that hasn't arrived either. I hope that yours turn up. - Sandra.

Well what better way to relieve stress than a new start?? And Australia is almost the same as Austria, isn't it?? :-) Amsterdam is looking AWESOME. I'm still plugging away on that roof!! LOL

Wow! I love how Amsterdam looks. I've seen this designer's charts and they are amazing. So incredibly detailed and colorful. Your stitching is great.

I hope your long lost packages find their way to you. I would be upset if that were me. I get a bit impatient too waiting for shipments. :)

I'm always impatient with the post, and hope yours arrives soon! The Fred's are in my stash, and hopefully one day...

Ha, stalking the postman that is a good one. How can anything be better than chocolate??, have not really used silks so can't say on that one. Amsterdam is really looking good and like the new project so far too.

Debbie said...

Amsterdam is coming beautifully! I wish I had the skill to stitch something like that. Im also keeping my fingers crossed that your charts are on their way to you!!

I'm sure your package will be there before you know it, fingers crossed for ya anyway

Nancy in IL said...

Oh, Gabi! I do so hope your charts are just delayed in reaching you and not lost! It must be so hard to rely in international mailings. It's hard enough here in the U.S to rely on a broke postal system. I did think, for some reason, you had alreadly finished the mystery sampler and weren't still waiting on the chart.

I'll have to look up Carriage Sampler's "Frederika." I've never heard of it; also want to call my LNS and see what pearled barley is - just the color perhaps? Whatever, it's pretty. And about Amsterdam - I have just followed that in awe. I've probably used this word before, but I have to do it again - magnificent!!!

Oooooh, Ahhhhhh, It's amazing!! I love your Amsterdam, Gabi. It's so gorgeous. I really want to get Thea's St. Petersburg. I love the onion domes, and watching you progress on yours is making me want to get mine, lol. Here's hoping you have a finish very soon!! And your new start looks cute so far. You got lots done on it. I hope your charts are just taking the scenic route and will get to you eventually!!

Oh Gabi, fingers crossed on the parcel, it is always a worry when we order OS. I blame Aussie mail, not US. Ordered only the other day, and nearly ordered both Frederika and Frederick, but decided to leave until next time :D

Amsterdam is looking great, what a huge project. and i hope your packages turn up soon, i hate waiting for things in the post, it drives me to sulking.

I've never used NPI silks, and I'll be honest, I'm scared too, if they are that good i will bankrupt myself.

Hi! Your Amsterdan looks amazing. I just saw this so I guess is now finished.
I am Mexican, my name is Lidia and I'm 22 years old. I've been looking for this pattern like crazy, my mom loves doing cross stitch, and you know, she found a magazine with 7 pictures, I think they're called "Thea Gouverneur", and God they are soo beautiful... Of course it is a magazine from Spain so, has been hard to get all those patterns.
Maybe some day I'll go to Europe and I'll get for my mom all kind of patterns for her lovely artwork.
Anyway, one day I hope I'll go to Australia too, must be really pretty (:
