My heart is going to bloom :)

Yes, indeed – and I’m most excited about it too. My heart is really going to bloom and it’s bouncing in anticipation. “Where my Heart Blooms”  is the name of the chart that arrived yesterday on my doorstep. One of the 2 charts that I so badly want to stitch but couldn’t get my hands on. And amazingly a fellow stitcher and new friend sent me a message that she will borrow me the chart.  That is SO generous.  Even more if you consider that Carol doesn’t even know me, and still trusts me enough to send me this darling OOP chart.  I’m still in awe about that. And so very thankful.

While Carol is visiting Europe, her chart is on vacation with me in Australia.  I’m babysitting it so to speak. We will have some quality fun time here – that’s a sure thing!  All threads are already ordered and lots of different fabrics fondled to find the right one.
Does anyone can give me an indication about what DMC color is close to  “Korty’s Special Blend” from R&R Reproductions ?

Also…getting a bit bored by what I’m stitching lately, I subscribed to a Mystery Sampler. It’s called Bird of a Feather from “With thy Needle”. I saw the border of part one and was sold. Plus… I LOVE LOVE LOVE birds, which means it really can’t go wrong. It's a no brainer.  Right now I’m stalking the postman daily awaiting the chart and materials.

Except running up and down here like a chicken without head I did manage to put some stitches in. First of all there are 3 ornaments… (I’m having a thing with ornaments at the moment…lol)

Quaker Fragments (one of the March stockings)
Designer: Blackbird Designs
Fabric: 30ct R&R Reproduction Linen (Apple Brown Bindi)
Fibers : Gentle Art (I used 2 Special Edition colors)
Stitched for Cindy  as Quaker ornament for an exchange at Hooked on Exchanging

Winter Sheep
Designer:  Little House Needleworks
Fabric: 30 ct Weeks  “Straw”
Fibers : DMC.  Although I did change 2 colours and used DMC 3852 and 814 instead the recommended colors. Added couple of beads too.

The  Merry Skater
Designer: Little House Needleworks
Fabric: 32ct Belfast – Summer Khaki
Fibers: DMC (used white instead of cream and 3852)

Obligatory update on Amsterdam….

Ohhhh….and I’m knitting a scarf for my youngest daughter

Anyway, thanks for reading it all to the end…and I’m going to stalk the post man a bit because awaiting several packets from over sea!!! (Insert here the picture of a desperate woman clinging to the poor posties legs  while he tries just as desperate to get away….) Thank god I’m not impatient!!!

Bird of a Feather looks lovely indeed! I can't decide yet, because I've so much stash already.
A vacation chart is a great idea.
Happy stitching while you are stalking the postman ;o)

Your ornaments are gorgeous Gabi! And your daughter is going to love her new scarf :)

Stitchers are really the most generous people...I hope you enjoy every stitch of WMHB!

Aren't stitchers the very best?

Your ornaments are gorgeous.

Well I waited until I saw the little snippet of the mystery and caved! I know I shouldn't and I will feel so guilty but I love the way it looks and I love birds. I emailed Anita but she had sold out. Thankfully she's getting more in but I'm going to be a cheapskate and sub the WDW if I can!

Your ornaments are all darling--I especially love your stocking finish. Can't get up my nerve to try that one yet!

Have a great week :)

You have been busy Gabi. I love my little stocking, it is in a home where it is loved. Carol is a great stitching friend of mine and also a very good story teller. The ornies are cute. Stitchers are the best. You picked out a lovely chart.

You have some great projects finished and in progress. I think you're so brave to be stitching Amsterdam - that is one impressive peace and beautiful to book.

I'm glad that someone came through with the chart for you. Bloggers have to be the best in helping out people!!

Where the Heart Blooms IS a lovely chart, and it's wonderful of Carol to let go of it in travel to other stitchers! What a lovely, trusting lady!

Your ornaments are wonderfully stitched and finished, and Amsterdam is majestic, even if you're bored with it, LOL!

Your knitting is, as always, beautiful! I wish I had stuck with my knitting from a class I took long ago.

Oh my goodness..you have really been super busy, it appears!! Your ornaments are beautiful! Did you put the stocking together yourself? I have those to do. The big Quaker ones I did from Carriage House didn't intimidate, but those little ones do. lol. Yours looks perfect. I do love that BBD that you are going to stitch. They are my favorite--and Plum Street Samplers, of course. :)

Ahh Gabi the stitching world is so wonderful isn't it, and I know "Where My Heart Blooms" will enjoy it's visit here downunder, you will take care of it, give it love and keep it lovely and warm this winter! Be kind to the postie, maybe great him or her with freshly baked biscults, nice cup of tea and a friendly dog!

Ornaments are wonderful, can't wait to see your tree this Christmas.

Grats on the finishes. I like The Merry Skater, and love the color on the stocking. It's gorgeous. Amsterdam is looking good. You're really making progress fast. Is that Thea Govenour's kit?

Carol sure is a sweetie, isn't she? :)

Lovely stitching and new stash! Beautiful work on your ornaments! I really need to get back to my stockings--I love how yours turned out. Amsterdam is coming along so nicely, as is your knitting!

Korty's Special Blend is a warm tan color, if that makes any sense. Lambswool would be light, Korty's would be a medium color. This link should take you to a miniscule sample of it:

If that link doesn't work, go to www.nordencrafts.com, click on fabrics, then R&R, and so on.

Beautiful stitching and knitting both! And you have some good projects to look forward to there! :D I'm subscribed to the mystery sampler as well -- I need to pick mine up from the LNS sometime. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I've enjoyed browsing through yours.

How truly sweet of Carol to send her BBD down to you on Holiday! :) I know y'all will have the loveliest time stitching and enjoying a cuppa together! I really love that one as well... Well in truth, I love all of BBD! lol

Amsterdam is just Gorgeous indeed, Gabi!!! I Love it and at the rate you're stitching you'll be finished with it in no time at all! :)

I ordered the Mystery Sampler, Birds of a Feather, from With thy Needle and Thread as well... mine came last week and I am so longing to get started stitching... I have a couple of things I'd like to finish first... but it's calling so loudly and I don't think I shall be able to resist much longer... oh, we shall see!

I Love all your ornaments... such lovely stitching and finishing and your BBD stocking is gorgeous! You are such a talented finisher... and your knitting is so lovely! I know your daughter is going to adore her scarf!

Do have fun stalking the postie, dear! And I do like Libbie's idea of the biscuits and cuppa... it may somewhat lessen the shock of a slightly mad stalking stitcher camped out upon the doorstep... ;)

blessings always in stitches...
