Coming to Water - Julie H. Levy Square and a Valisette

Almost there!!!! Almost. I can smell the end!!!! If it wasn't that I suffer from a sudden aversion against aida I would be even further....lol. I HATE working on that stiff fabric. Didn't mind it all the other pages, but recently stitching on this fabric puts me off quite a bit. Why? Not the slightest clue.
To make sure that "Coming to Water" won't end as an UFO, I promised to not stitch on anything else until I finished it. Hence my sudden interest in all sort of other handy work....LOL. Although I have to admit I enjoy these other things as well and consider them now keepers too.
Coming to Water is a gift for Michael, and I want to have it over and done with. When finished I probably can forget that fabric and simply enjoy looking at it again. Anyhow...lol....I may gladly say: another frigging page done. "Only" one more to go.

I also finished another square of the Great American Aran Afghan - Julie H Levy.  Happy with that too:
Julie H Levy

And....I made a bag!!!! My first bag ever - I loved every bit of it - and best thing of all is, it only took couple of hours. If you consider that in these couple of hours also is quite some time involved to find out how my new machine works and HOW to install a walking foot for example, it's not bad at all.  Which means I got a very nice bag in no time - thanks to "Un Petit Bout de Fils" who has a tutorial for it on her website. It's on French...which I can read a bit but not speak (don't ask....lol).It's very good explained with pictures and so it was very easy to follow the tutorial. The name of the bag is Valisette, which means translated to English suitcase if I'm not mistaken. The name is a bit over the top size wize...lol....considering  I made the biggest size out of 3 possible sizes and it's really not that big. Just the right size for me.

Fantastic on all accounts! Only one more page!!!! YAY, I'm so happy it's almost over for you. He will love it. The afghan is too pretty to use. At least in my house it would be!! And the purse in a couple hours??? NO WAY! That is just incredible. It takes me an hour to do a square!

You are so close to a finish on "Water" just don't put it down and get that last page finished. It looks awesome!

Love the bag. You did a wonderful job on it and I think the size is perfect.

The afghan is very pretty too.

You're almost there don't let the fabric beat you!

Oops, sorry - just drooled all over that square.

Hey! I know that fabric (the sampler one). I have a couple pieces of that. I always say there's no such thing as too big of a bag - but I just recently downsized because my shoulders were killing me.

yes, I know that aida feeling! LOL
I picked 22 count for my Scarlet, whenever I get to it. But I tell you what, I"m working on Creekbed Brown linen and it's as stiff or if not stiffer than aida. If I had a good dowel system it would be better.
Your afghan is so pretty and your bag is way cool!!!

Coming to Water looks amazing!!!

Oh my gosh Gabi, I love each and every one of them. Your bag is beautiful! Coming to Waters looks absolutely amazing, and I love your block of the Aran afghan - I want to start that afghan so bad, but just haven't had the time.

Coming to Water looks great!! LOL at your sudden interest in all things non-stitching. I do that to myself ALL the time. A sudden need to sort socks and clean out the medicine cabinet, etc., etc.? I'm avoiding something. :P It looks great, though, good for you.

Your afghan square--fabulous! I love seeing everybody's progress on these, wish I had the talent to knit.

Love the purse, too. You're a woman of many talents! I'm impressed.

This is terrific - just one more page to go. I also love those big projects although they take a long time to get finished. But it's worth it.
The afghan will look wonderful with all those lovely squares. And congratulations on finishing such a great bag!

Wow I love Coming to Water. It finished up nicely and you should be very proud. I also like your knitted squares..I can knit but if it is not in one piece forget it. Cannot put them together nicely so I stitck to cross stitch unless it is a dish cloth. LOL Of course all the other pieces are very nice.Keep your needle smoking.
